Mentor Watch: Ten Key Takeaways from Être’s Q1 2024

As Women’s History Month and Q1 2024 simultaneously pull to a close, it seems the perfect time to look back on highlights that launched our year and expectations for the quarter ahead. Having come from a background in M&A and a love of all things measurable, each Être quarterly learning report holds a special place for me. With a new name, Mentor Watch, this quarter’s report blew the doors off all of our expectations, and I couldn’t wait to share them.

While girls' eyes are already turned to an exciting Q2, below are our top 10 mentor moments of Être’s Q1 – I’m grateful to every company, collaborator and champion who gave meaning to these metrics.

Not only do the reactions to our research continue, but the results do as well. The confidence boom we see as girls take boardroom seats and raise their hands to ask astute questions gives living proof to numbers on the page.

75% of girls with a mentor say they are more confident speaking in public. Yes, we hear that.

87% of girls with a mentor say they are more confident applying for internships. Yes, we see that.

91% of girls say they would be more confident overall with a mentor. Yes, we know that. And we’re ready.

What’s on our horizon for Q2?

Get ready for eclipse interviews with astronauts, visits to game-changing companies, epic mentor moments and exciting collaborations we can’t reveal just yet. Our #BeMyShadow program will be in full-swing for spring and our boardroom conversations will vault to new levels when Être turns 8 on May 8th.

For now, we’re closing the book on Q1 and opening fresh notebooks for Q2. Written on that first blank page?

Girls…who do you want to be?

Looking forward,

Illana
